update on bCentral effectiveness
Submitted on Friday, in Google by Monday. Looks like I got upwards of 20 incoming text links, although not all are reflected in Google (yet?).

Yup 3s and 4s and 0s. I have to check again, but I think I got a listing on a PR5 (but with many other links as well).

The only problem with this directory is that they are inconsistent on title submissions. I have found some listing stuffed with KW's. It took me several attempts to get mine in and its not what I had in mind. but...
They are still better than most.
Someone asked about PR (the pages they placed me on)

I think it has already helped my anchor text. I'm closing in on number one for two keywords. (I can hear the jaws theme in the background, can't you)

Seems this is a very popular directory to pay for! I also might try this one. I have a budget and am definitely going to spend it but I thought to try ppc first before spending it on directories. There are so many free ones to get into.
