I'm still not in the first 1000 sites! HELP!
Hi,
I sell designer like sunglasses for only $10. My site is:
http://www.glamourshades.com
The site lanuched August 7, 2004. I have posted here before and received a lot of help. (All of which I have implemented.) Googles inurl lists 48 of my pages. I have been building links as best I can.
Sunglasses is my most important keyword. I have tried to optimize for it. but... using googleranks.com tool I don't show up in the first 1,000 sites! I'm I spaming? How much is too much? How many times can I use it in keywords, titles, links, alt tags, in total? Have I gone to far? Is it hurting my rank? I'm in stuck in the google sandbox? Do I just need to be patience and wait?
Thanks,
glamourshades

Google is probably dampening your new URL.

Well... if the business is built on free search results visitors, it might take some time to go somewhere. I still make crumbs. Chances are you did not think it would be so hard to get somewhere in the SERPS, but thats how it is. I don't think you will do great after such a short period of time. Better be patient my friend, it takes a while to do good...

$500? I paid more than $5000 in Adwords since March and I'm still waiting for Google to put me in the top 1000 naturally. Only now do I understand that getting good SERPS positioning takes twice as long as you think. Sorry to rain on your parade, but that's the reality....

Hey Glamourshades,
I live in Thailand, the Land Of Copies (It's not the Land Of Smiles anymore), want me to send you a shipment of absolutely premium Ray Ban, Chanel or any other brand name glasses?? Very competitive prices, I buy them for $US 2.50, and they looks EXACTLY like the originals, hahaha! Nah, just joking, wouldn't get caught pushing those copies

If it was so easy to get to the top of google with a few weeks work and $500 then what would stop the competitors from spending one week more and $600.
Some online stores have put years into getting to the top and spent tens of thousands. One of my competitors had £5 million invested into it a few years back. Maybe alot of that went on stock, staffing, premises etc but then some will also have gone into search engine optimisation and it won't just have been $500.
I think it will take years before I can get to the top on general terms like watering or gardening and that's if I can ever get to the top on those. At the moment I can't even get to the top for obscure terms like a specific product.
But I have got around this for one major terms by paying another site to host a page all about my services and their page is now in first and second position in google UK for my keyword and also 3rd for another of my keywords. The page is full of links to me.
If you want more info about this PM me as I am not about to publish to the world the keywords I have managed to get top for.

Slash dot Dash,
I'd be most interested in learning about how you asked a competitor to publish a webpage that features all your products. If I can ask, what did you have to pay for an arrangement like that? How long is your agreement for?
