Is this arrogance on G's part or what?
How in the hell can Yahoo have a drop in PR to PR9?
I find this laughable.

mikeb: There were pages added to the index and this moved the PR10 scale up and the 37 of the bottom PR10's dropped down to PR9's. Google also have 7 pages that were PR10's drop down to PR9's. Check out my PR 10 Pages and you will see a what pages dropped out.

Its not personal you know, the PageRank assigned is purely mathematical (its a beautiful formula in fact). If yahoo's PR drop its due to particular factors. Yahoo would be treated the same as any other site.

I think this is partly because Yahoo keeps adding ton of pages and they are all visible to Google. PR kind of spreads around and top domain loses PR10 from time to time. This is just my wild guess though ...

There is nothing to laugh, Yahoo is treated the same way any other site is treated in PR algorithm, If yahoo's homepage drops in pagerank it simply means it doesnt have the sufficient links any more to make the homepage a pagerank 10,
Many pagerank 10 pages did loose their pagerank and yahoo is one of them,

Yet Google remains PR10. Guess they haven't added any pages
I still find it quite remarkable

Google - 16 outgoing on homepage, all to internal pages.
Yahoo - 262ish outgoing links on homepage, all internal
In theory yahoo is a pr10 site with so many incoming links, however they are spreading their pr out over lots of pages. Looking at most of its internal pages they too have a lot of links on each page.
Conclusion - yahoo is more interested in having useful navigation and services for visitors than a pr10.

arius: There are about 6 or 7 good lists of PR10 sites on the internet. I collected all the pages listed in those sites and then by hand when though most of the main pages of those sites by hand, and compiled my list.
