Easy Link Swap Idea

Seo'ers,

I have been doing something for a while that speeds up my link exchanging and wanted to share.

First off I don't use software. It is probably faster in the long haul but it just never caught on with me.

Anyway to speed things up I have made a bunch of email templates for emailing webmmaseters with all my info in them. Some of the letters have a 3 kw link text and some use 2kw.

I leave these letters open and simply copy-n-paste changing the name out when I know what the webmazters name is.

I have found this to be very productive as it seems to the othe mazter that it is a little more personal. Not just some automated tool.

I sorta have one format that seems to be more productive than the others. Below is the template.

Webmaster,

I came across your site while doing some keyword research. You and I have similar sites and I would like to do a link swap with you. At your discretion of course.

As customary, and as an overall benefit to my visitors, I have added your site at this url:
http://www.yoursite.com/resources.htm

I used, what I thought was, your keyword in the link text and used your meta description. If you would like something different please let me know.

If you believe my site is of value and you list it could you please use this code:

<a href="http://www.lyoursite.com">your kw phrase</a>-
Your description that attracts attention and gets people to click your link.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my request.

Sincerely,

Your Name

From that template I change the link text phrase to create another.

Hope this helps.

Chris

Tomh,

Yeah, you're probably right. I just never got into the whole "software" thing for link exchanges. I like looking for really good ones by hand and of course shootin' off an email.

That's why I made templates of request emails. Almost always I get a response and a link this way.

Pokeey, I agree with forgoing the software. I can see using tools to find contacts but think that the pages/links pages should always be verified personally, at least initially.

I think it is a good idea, and will probably use somthing similar to your letter. I have never used software, and don't want to spend any money to purchase it anyways. Thanks for the tip.
