They make satellite sites and charge you for clicks on their sites. I did a search on Google and found a forum discussion about them that left me with a bad impression.

I think they take a $7500 deposit. Seems pretty shady. Just want to see if anyone out there has anything to share about them.

Seems like they create mini sites for different categories/products and charge you for clicks? Do you happen to know how much they charge? They are doing the same things as what a lot of affiliates do, but instead of getting commission based on the sales, they make money from clicks.

I think they ask for $7500 upfront and deduct the cost of clicks from that. Sounds like they have a really hard time getting that many clicks, so the big money upfront seems risky. The websites are pretty crappy, so for competitive terms, I doubt they would rank very high. I mean for that money, you can just pay someone to make you a much better site, and you would own it.

I know the guys from Traffic Logic, their model is based on HAHA now I have your money you'll get your $7500 in clicks it will just take 5 years. I say you just give me your $7500, I (Any and Decent SEO) will get you as much as your buying in 3 months and guess what, after that the traffic keeps flowing for free heh, The ROI on that traffic will be crap because they target junk terms with poor conversion. SWO gets searched 329 times per month, might be a misspelling of SEO but I dont want to be paying $2.00 per click for the traffic.

They also have a model where they join your affiliate program but you have to pay them lol and they work it off in sales WHAT A JOKE!

Ah well buyer beware market and I say Buyers beware!

It was a client asking me whether they should use them - they decided against it anyway. They do claim a higher ROI than Overture - good point about targeting crappy kw's though. That must be how they do it.

A few of my clients use Traffic Logic, so I asked them about their experiences with them. They cleared up a few things that have been stated incorrectly here. First off, they don't charge $7500...they have a bunch of different pricing packages and products to choose from and $7500 is on the higher end. You basically open up an account like Overture and your clicks are debited out. You can start with as little as $1500 I think. Secondly, they no longer build out satellite sites. They have a content network called Article Insider where you can sponser a section that applies to your industry. My clients said that as soon as they switched formats, their traffic went up dramatically. I checked out AI and it's not bad. It does rank for a ton of keywords and the content is pretty good - not as in depth as you might get on a true "expert" site, but a good jumping off point for most topics (kind of like About.com). They do seem to target more niche keywords, but I wouldn't say those are "junk terms with poor conversion" as seo guy has. In fact, in my experience the more niche you go the BETTER converting the keywords are. For instance, if you are a mortgage broker in Florida you'd be much better off targeting the keyword "mortgage broker in Florida" or "Miami Florida mortgage broker" than you would trying to go after "mortgage". You may get 100 times more traffic from "mortgage", but 99% of that traffic isn't looking for you....but if someone actually types in "Miami Florida mortgage broker" they are much more targeted to what you are actually selling, and have a much better chance of converting. Common sense. (And the fact that Traffic Logic charges CPC and are NOT going after those clicks that are never going to convert for you...that seems like a pretty stand up thing to do.)

That being said, I agree that money spent on improving your own website so that you can get your own traffic is always the best way to go and is always the first thing I recommend to clients. But if you're simply looking for traffic on a CPC basis, then Traffic Logic is just another option - just like Overture and Google Adwords. My clients are pretty happy with them and based on that I would recommend them to future clients as well.

My client said the exact opposite.

one thing I think sucks about the Traffic Logic / Article Insider network idea is that you pay them to create content in your industry that clogs up the search results and then they place adsense ads ABOVE your sponsored listings...in a sense you are paying them to create adsense websites selling ad space to your competitors and you get none of that money.

I recommend avoinding them.

I guess every client is going to have a different experience, so I can only speak for the 4 clients I have that use TL and they all said their traffic went up after the switch. Plus, for 2 of those 4 clients the content had already been written on Article Insider and they just added their contextual ads, so they aren't necessarily writing new content for every client.


I see your point about the content and Adsense, but you don't actually pay them to make you a website, you pay them for clicks - so whether other ads are on that page doesn't mean you are paying for traffic to go to your competitors. You only pay for the traffic you get. While that may not be a consolation for some (and I can see why), I don't think it is grounds for implying that they are unethical or doing something wrong.

I am not saying it is wrong or unethical, just that one should explore directly improving their own site before considering buying traffic from Article Insider. when you are done paying article insider the content network is still there.
