Well there are a few really good books out there for ASP.
First one I read is called "Expert Guide To Visual Basic 6", this one mostly covers VB6 topics but has some really really good asp stuff. After I read that one lol I finished my degree in college for Computer Science, the sad part about that is I have no idea which books we used in the classes. ehhe

Thanks Cyber, but I was looking for a book that covered the basics. One of the ways I began learning Coldfusion is there was an actual book put out by Allaire, back before Macromedia bought them, called "The Coldfusion Web Application Construction Kit" written by the Coldfusion Master Ben Forta. It covered most of the tags and how to use them in pratical ways and I was hoping there was a similar book for ASP. At this time I'm not really looking to learn why things work in ASP but how to make it work.

I quite enjoy the WROX books. I've got "Beginning JavaScript" and "Beginning asp.net". I find the books excellent, but they do tend to be 1000 pages long so take a bit of time to get through. I'm sure they'll have a beginning asp book as well.
Make sure you get a book about the right scripting language - your application could be written in asp vb script, or asp javascript.

e Commando - I forgot about the Dummy books - Thanks.
Vord- I'm assuming it's VB script since each page begins like this
<%@LANGUAGE="VBSCRIPT" CODEPAGE="1252"%>
I'll look for a WROX ASP book

Sounds suspiciously like VB Script to me.
Don't know if you have a good bookstore, but what I tend to do is go in with a particular issue I want to understand, then just buy the book that explains it the best. People have different ways of explaining things, so different books are best for different people.
