Out of the sandbox
Well guys, im finally out of that crap hole we all call the sandbox
Just came home from the gym and checked google from some rankings just for the hell of it and sure enough there I am in the top 10.
The site was first picked up by google on June 10th and now 8 months and 9 days later it's out. I still have a lot of work to do, Im not in the top 10 for everthing.
For anyone who has experience with this: when your site came out, did the rankings stick? Or did they go up or down? How long did it take for it to move after coming out?
Im not sure what to expect now

What steps did you do to get out of the sand hole if any? Just build tons of links?

well I was an idiot at first and got tons and tons of backlinks within the first 2 months. Then stopped completely out of frustration. Then in the past 2 months I have been using the co-op ad network. But ironically, I took the site out today because I think I got penalised in MSN and Yahoo for a specific keyword. So I have no idea what really got me out, maybe it was just the time factor.

Very true...
Also, should I expect my new rankings to line up with my allinanchors? Most of my allinanchors are in the top 5 but a lot of my current rankings are around #9 - 25

not necessarily, depends on the content and where it is located. Whatever you do, it does add weight to your home page which eventually will be what is ranked best overall.

Right now rankings are jumping back and forth between first page and second.

NO, I am not in the coop. Weight is the invisible power a search engine assigns you based on age, content, backlinks and so on. For example, if you have a strong domain name, you build pages and they will rank with just a couple links to that page.
