Adding a title to a link

I know adding a keyword to a link is used in SEO, not that I am aware just how essential it is, but what about adding a title to a link as well? Someone suggested it can be seen as spam, anyone know about this?

If the function is available, it's because it's to be used. Like anything you can push it too much and get slapped for it. You should think that one use of this is for the blinds people that use a machine to read this and say it for them. I don't think this one has enough weight to try to use it to boost serps...

Thanks Jocelyn.

I was wondering about the alt tag in images. I've read that you should insert your keywords in there, but does it make any difference to the search engines? I know about it helping the blind, but does it boost your sites rank in any way?

I don't know that it makes any difference but I'd say do it, if you can use your keywords to reasonably describe the image. Personally I'd make sure I mixxed it up real well too.
