Google Filtering Rank Checks

Quote:
We're sorry...
... but we can't process your request right now. A computer virus or spyware application is sending us automated requests, and it appears that your computer or network has been infected.

We'll restore your access as quickly as possible, so try again soon. In the meantime, you might want to run a virus checker or spyware remover to make sure that your computer is free of viruses and other spurious software.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope we'll see you again on Google.

I got this after runing a backlink Analyzer for my site and now it won't let me search on google maybe this something that was enforced on the last weard update I know I don't have any spyware or virus on my computer.

Anyone else seeing this happen after a rank check or blacklink check?

You may be querrying Google to many times in a set period of time. See if you have an option to increase the interval. Or you can use the Google API.

I know what this is.

When people used google a couple months back to find specific VERSIONS of PHPBB (the widly used bulletin board) so that they could exploit it, google issued a block on searches that look like you're searching for something similar.

Because google could be used for this, a virus was made that did the same thing and found places and hacked them. hence the message.

Your software may need some updating to compensate for this.

Here is an example of google blocking a request:

You type in: "Powered by phpBB 2.0.11" (this search wont show the message ) ... you find sites with the crappy version.

for the same reasons as volknet stated, searching for anyword.php will often bring up the error as well (where anyword is whatever you type in)
