Naming your link exchange directory
I read that we should not use links as your link exchange directory as there may be a Google filter.
So how do you name your directory?
dir
directory
partners
network
friends
or others?

Because
On my newer sites I began to call my links page partner.html. I also heard that some SEs began to ignore pages called links.html. I'ld rather be safe than sorry about anything so whether it's true or not I don't know.
I feel partners.html does a great job of naming my links page anyways. I want my links page to be links that will really benifit my visitors anyhow so calling them partners fits that description. We should be trading links with sites that are related to ours not only because we know SEs like that, but because our customers can benifit from it. I could call my link page resources.html also, because that's what it is resources for my visitors. So what ever term suits you best go with it.

Mine is called "Real Estate Agent Directory" and that is exactly what it is. I too do not liek the term link directory or anything with the word link in it. Unfortunately, I did not have control over anming my URL extensions when I created this section. It does, however, do very well. I used to be able to find it in Google when searching for R E A D, wow I never noticed it was R.E.A.D. before. Anywho, it used to have PR 4/10 before the last update and all state pages were 3/10. Was nice, but now my HP went down to 4/10 (from 5) and the directory went down to 3 with state pages at 2. Yuck. But still gets the job done and safely IMO.
Had to use "Q" just now to come up decent in a search, but I'm there at #21 and 22. USed to come up on page 2 with out "Q"tation marks.

I can't wait to begin working on naming all my URL extensions, dropping the old ones and getting re-indexed!

Welcome to the forum Success.
Note the words choosen in the above quote "there may be..."
I'm not sure myself and I don't think anyone knows absolutely for sure. But, it makes sense, doesn't it? And, we should be making sites for visitors, so calling it something a visitor to your site would recognize, makes better sense anyways.
Right? Or?????

I do believe that there is a filter for words like links so I never use it. My links are in a subdirectory on most sites that I manage and it's named with an appropriate KW.
