It really works.
Just wanted to let you know that patients and following the advice on this forum really does work.
It's taken a good 9 months of SEO but now our site is 1st in Google for all but 1 term that we have been optimizing for and we also have a few that we never expected.
I never optimized for the term garden watering as I thought it would be too hard to obtain but we are 2nd out of 1,310,000 result. That is a result in itself.
We have never and will never take short cuts in SEO such as white text, creating multiple sites linking to each other etc, we have kept the SEO simple and just kept at it.
Thank you all.

Great,
I feel 9 months its too late to get on to 1st place. I need to know is there
any other way that we start seeing the result quicker so that we can enjoy work
far better. Don't you people think that search engines has to have a
second thought in this.

RAO, yes there is a way to see results quicker.
It's called PPC.
You have to understand, if you rush things in SEO you're going to get burned. While I've never had a site actually take 9 months, I can still see that for some. I'm sure they were learning during that 9 month period as well, and if they had to do it all over it wouldnt quite take 9 months.

I am surprised that you say 9 months is a long time.
We are talking from having NO site to a site that ranks 1st in the world for the all the terms we were aiming for, on a zero budget, no I take that back I did buy one piece of software.
I spent about 2 - 4 hours a weeks on SEO and the site behind me in google.co.uk for garden watering has 13,500,000 backlinks. That's the BBC for you.
If it was quicker to get there then I would be worried as it would be too easy for somebody else to do.
I don't think the term garden watering actually gets me that many sales, that's why I have used it as the example. I won't discuss my true key phrases as they are key to my business.

9 months isn't a long time when you're learning as you go. Its a good time frame for that type of situation.
100+ hours isn't what I would call a zero budget either. Thats a lot of time, and we all know time is money.

Sites nowadays are lucky if they can get out of the sandbox in that time

Ive heard about a lot of sites getting out of the box at 6 months, and some at 3-4 months usually after they receive a high PR or 5-7 or more.
