Main Page removed from index
My site is www.debtkit.net. Today I noticed that my main page was removed from the msn index but every other page (hundreds of them) still remain in the index. Is there any reason for this? |

Hi,
Take no notice of dilligaf... he has to read three threads at once, answer PM's, delete spam, and put out the trash.
I've never seen this before in msn, but I think they are having some teething troubles...
One of my sites has 924 pages cached.... which is nice, but I've only written 300! When I click on "next" the page count drops to 120... it's been like this for a week
Are you still getting msn referrals? That's the acid test

Yes I am still getting referrals from the other pages. But none from the main page of course.
Lately my main page had the msn cache updated every 4 days. It seems they dropped it on the last cache update. More than 60% of the main page changes daily. But this change takes place only once per day. Could this be the problem?

No... quite the opposite.
How about your keyword rankings in msn? At the moment, I'm sure it's an msn problem and not a problem with your site.

I just went to msn and typed 'debt consolidation articles' and my site was shown in the #1 position for that page. So I guess the keywords are working.
Is it possible to msn to drop a single page (such as the main page) for some type of penality?

I don't know much about msn penalties to be honest - it's too new, and msn penalties are very very rare.
I would have a look at your server logs for anything strange, also maybe run a link checker to look for any problems with the site navigation, but yes it's a mystery because your site appears clean. Where do you get your rss content from?
If it's not cleared up soon, why don't you click on the "not satisfied with the results" button?

The rss content is actually pulling articles from my site. I wanted to avoid linking elsewhere.
