Opinions on Webposition Gold
Here we go - first question.
What tools should I think about using for SEO?
Webposition Gold seems to come up everywhere when looking. Quite an expensive program but seems to have everything. What do the experts here think of it and is it worth buying or is there alternatives. Or should I go with the manual method of some of the very informative tutorials at this site?
I await your expert opinions.
Koolsteve.

Hi Steve,
Many of the automated tools are expensive, have features that are out of date (such as directory auto submission), or too difficult for a beginner to set up properly.
Also you can't decide what features you need until you've had a bit of seo experience and learnt a bit more seo jargon.
As I remember when I tried web position gold, it came with limited functionality but it seemed ok, but some people don't like it. Also you can try arelis - many people here use it.
Cheers,
Paz.

I've found it at Axandra
I did a search and found it along with other useful programs at:
www.axandra.com
Is this where other forum members purchase this program?
Regards, koolsteve.

Just about all I need
Mikes marketing tools is a great site.
24 hours on this forum and I'm blitzed with programs and ideas.
I think I've struck gold here!!
Got to go, got a lot to read and review.

I personally dont like WPG (Web position gold) I am a firm believer in learning how to do your own SEO, not relying on a program to attempt to do it for you.
The only thing I personally use software for is checking rankings and generating reports.

I would recommend using Wordtracker in order to find keywords with high hit counts and relatively low competition -- in other words, keywords with a high KEI (Keyword Effectiveness Index). I moved my personal website from "nowhere to be found," to #1 on page one of Google. I used Wordtracker to find an appropriate keyword with a decent KEI (in my case -- 26.8 KEI); then I placed the keyword in my Title tag, my Keyword and Description META tags, and in one <H1> and one <H2> entry in my body text. A very "bare bones" SEO job -- but it worked like a charm. Five days after making the changes my site went from "nowhere to be found to #1" on Google. I am NOT recommending my technique for business applications -- I'm only pointing out that this SEO stuff really works, and that I've found Wordtracker to be a very useful tool.
