I am new to this forum and hopefully you guys could help me out.

I am new to seo and have a question. I have an e-commerce site www.splaytech.com and i understand my website should be content rich and should have many good keywords in my home page so i get good rankings and the density of the keywords should be good as well. But to be honest its a ecommerce site so i don't really know exactly where to put content on the home page? I went to other ecommerce sites that are really big and they have no content on the home page as well. any idea's on how i can add tons of content to my home page if its an ecommerce site without ruining the look and feel of the site?

if the content is on their own pages wont' that just optimize that page for those keywords rather then my home page, with barely any content?

Yes, which is exactly how it should be done. You will never get any single page "optimized" for a bunch of KWs. 2-3 at the most.
